Amélie Berton

Amélie Berton is a French art lover, a self-taught photographer who resides in Brussels, the European capital, where she can enjoy an inspiring multicultural environment.

She started photography to document and capture important events and personal moments. Amélie started to study photography techniques at the age of 20 when she moved to Spain and has not stopped learning since then to satisfy her growing passion.

Feeling the urge to materialize her thoughts she decided to explore staged portraiture thus creating visual poetry.

Her portraits are all somehow autobiographical, describing her personal feelings, often using photography as a graphic diary.

She attempts to create surreal worlds where the impossible becomes possible, to translate our complex but so very human feelings into photographic language.

Amélie composes magical portraits, using techniques to emulate paintings or cinema in which she finds her inspiration.
