Born in Norway in 1976, Anja Niemi studied at London College of Printing and Parsons School of Design in Paris and New York. She is now considered ‘one of the most compelling modern artists working today‘ and ‘one of Europe’s most talked-about young artists’.

Niemi is exclusively represented by The Little Black Gallery. She has exhibited her last three critically acclaimed series at the gallery: Darlene & Me (2015), Starlets (2013), and Do Not Disturb (2012). Darlene & Me was also exhibited at Photo London (2015). She will be exhibiting all three series as Photographing In Costume from 3 March – 2 April 2016 in New York at The Little Black Gallery Pop-Up at Five Eleven Gallery, and her new Polaroid series will be premiered at Photo London 2016, and then shown in full at The Little Black Gallery in September.
