Reflex Studio Thomas Lui
Thomas Lui I was born in Milan 35 years ago and I approached photography right away. It’s a passion I’ve always had deep inside: I had my first reflex when I was 8. When I was 14, everyone was asking for a motorbike, but I had my second reflex. And so on. Six years ago, the turning point: I became assistant of Alfred Sabbatini, with who was my girlfriend once. For nine months, I’ve worked side by side with the one I still call my Master. He taught me everything he knew, and I learnt. I accepted the challenge that defined my passion: portraits. The most difficult kind of photography, but also the most rewarding. So, I found myself in contact with people, and I interact with them everyday. I like this job. I especially like the idea of being inside the picture I take, without my presence. I like working with people, because they always give you something back. I take picture, mainly for the pleasure of taking them. For the willingness and the beauty of seeing what happens when I see the world through a lens. I have started doing it, as I am fond of saying, with all the love I can feel. Only like this you can reach certain results. And only though this, sometimes, the magic doesn’t end once you take the camera down.
